OUR ROADMAP

A personal smart-home journey.
A more connected future.

Miles’s journey began at home in 2017. Here’s how it developed, and where we want to take Cotswold Automation next.

THE FIRST STEPS

The smart-home journey begins

Miles starts exploring smart-home technology in his own home: discovering what is useful in everyday life, what needs simplifying and what is worth building on.

2020

BRINGING IT TOGETHER

Home Assistant joins the dots

The focus shifts towards bringing systems together with Home Assistant, making separate devices and controls part of a more coordinated home.

Since then

LEARNING THROUGH USE

From individual devices to whole-home thinking

Hands-on projects at home and for family bring together automation, smart controls, solar and batteries. That practical experience shapes an approach built around useful outcomes and understandable controls.

Next

COTSWOLD AUTOMATION

Bring the same thinking to more homes

Develop focused reviews and whole-home assessments into carefully scoped integration projects, with clear recommendations, tested functions and a practical handover.

Exploring

USEFUL NEW POSSIBILITIES

More insight. Less daily effort.

Areas we want to develop include clearer energy and battery dashboards, routines that respond to household needs, more useful heating information, and demonstrations that show exactly how an automation works.

Planned

OPTIONAL ONGOING CARE

Support that grows carefully

Prepare an invitation-only Care and Optimise pilot, alongside clearer backup and recovery guidance and periodic energy reviews. Availability, scope and response arrangements will be agreed before any plan begins.

A direction, not a release schedule

The early milestones describe Miles’s personal journey, not years of commercial trading. Future ideas depend on compatibility, customer needs and the time to support them properly. Your own installation does not require a future membership to keep working; any third-party dependencies will be explained.
